As we say goodbye to 2012, make sure you have a chance to savour our summer menu enjoyed with premium sake, Japanese craft beer, or our enticing cocktails, or all three :-)

The gang at Kumo will be taking a Christmas holidays break for two weeks but we hope to see you before the year is out!

Kumo's last day of trade for 2012 is Saturday 22nd December and we reopen for dinner Monday 7th January 2013

We have had a fantastic year and have especially enjoyed your company during some of our signature events over the past year such as our First Birthday Dinner, The Melbourne Food & Wine Festival Dinner - Sake Master vs Sommelier, our Sake Master private dinners and most recently the Kumo Izakaya Whiskey Dinner.

We are working hard on planning an exciting schedule of special dinners for 2013, including some great events with international guests such sake and beer brewers.

We love our sake, that's for sure, but we have to admit, a good beer is most welcome on the table when enjoying our Izakaya style menu.

We did say good beer, and some mighty fine craft beer is coming out of Japan these days. Kumo Izakaya and Palais Imports invite you to share the beer love over a very special dinner.

Hosted by Beer Master, Miro Bellini from Palais Imports and co-founder of Good Beer Week, this evening is all about the beer. Miro is delivering 8 hand selected beers from Japanese boutique brewers Kiuchi (Hitachino Nest Beer) & Yo-Ho Brewing Company. Miro and Kumo Head Chef Akimi Iguchi sat down for a serious tasting session and we'll be delivering an 8 course Izakaya extravaganza to compliment the brews.

If you're into good beer, awesome Japanese food and an evening of crafty beer geekiness, look no further. With Christmas just around the corner this will make a great end of year dinner for smaller groups. Limited six seater booths available.
