We serve "Izakaya" style Japanese food, it's closest comparison is Spanish tapas. Lots of smaller dishes to share, meaning you get to try many different tastes as opposed to locking yourself into the traditional western style dining of "entree, mains and dessert".

At Kumo Izakaya, you will find a varied and extensive range of local and imported wine, spirits, sake, shochu, umeshu and beer. Our in-house wine and sake experts will be on hand to offer recommendations and information. Enjoy a range of small gourmet izakaya-style platters between friends while opening up a bottle of wine or sake to match, or sip a house signature cocktail or fine Japanese whisky at the bar.

Sneaky last minute Sake Master Dinner!

We know it's football time, but hopefully we can tear you away from the game for a night of sake tasting, education and Kumo's award winning food!


Kumo co-owner and distinguished Sake Master, Andre Bishop has throw open the tatami room screens for a last minute Sake Master Dinner next Monday night.

These legendary events are a intimate affair featuring Kumo's amazing 11 course degustation menu, matched sake and a personalised sake education from your host for the evening, Andre Bishop.

Talk sake, talk Japan, or just sit back and enjoy the amazing Japanese feast and accompanying drinks.

Normally $130 per person, this special event is only $99 per person
