Welcome to Kumo Izakaya, Melbourne's foremost location for Japanese sake, food and culture. An eating place, a drinking place, a meeting place, Kumo is more than a restaurant and bar.

We serve "Izakaya" style Japanese food, it's closest comparison is Spanish tapas. Lots of smaller dishes to share, meaning you get to try many different tastes as opposed to locking yourself into the traditional western style dining of "entree, mains and dessert".

At Kumo Izakaya, you will find a varied and extensive range of local and imported wine, spirits, sake, shochu, umeshu and beer. Our in-house wine and sake experts will be on hand to offer recommendations and information. Enjoy a range of small gourmet izakaya-style platters between friends while opening up a bottle of wine or sake to match, or sip a house signature cocktail or fine Japanese whisky at the bar.

Grab some friends and grab great dining value at Kumo on Mondays & Tuesdays.

Diners are looking for value, and we are here to help.

Starting next Monday 25th March, every Monday and Tuesday we are offering any four dishes from our regular menu for only $40*.

Choose from signature Kumo dishes such as Wagyu beef Tataki, Braised Kurabuta Pork Belly Pie or Spicy Black Vinegar Karaage Chicken. Or try Seared scallops with butter and soy topped with bonito flakes, Baby taro potato & king oyster mushroom miso sake kasu gratin and our delicious pan-fried gyoza.

We have over 36 different dishes to choose from all at 4 for $40*.

Monday and Tuesday nights are the nights to get your gourmet on at Kumo Izakaya Japanese Restaurant.
